Volunteer efforts and donations alone support the work of our organization.
PEOPLE FOR CATS has been serving the community since 1993. During the first ten years, committed volunteers used their own homes to shelter abandoned and homeless cats. In 2003, PFC open its first no-kill shelter in a barn rented from Deer Run Veterinary Services. However, the dream was always to have a permanent facility to meet the needs of homeless cats and kittens as well as our volunteers and adopters.
Our New Shelter
In the fall of 2011, a new 2,500-sq.-ft. shelter was completed and is now our new home, just a few yards further down Beagle Lane from the old shelter. The shelter is designed to provide an environment that maintains our cats' good health, sustain a pleasant environment for our volunteers and provide a welcoming place for visitors and adopters. The shelter includes three separate cat suites with outdoor pens, a holding room for cats before they visit the vet, a self-sufficient quarantine room and a special room for the kittens that come to the shelter for adoption from their foster homes.
